Headaches
You’d be surprised to know the majority of headaches are due to musculoskeletal issues and that 95% of those headaches can be relieved with manual therapy.
I have treated many patients in my career who have been suffering from headaches for years and it would stop after just a couple of sessions.A slight blockage of your high cervical spine is the most common cause.
Knowing that there is a solution for such a problem and that so many people don’t know about it, is one of my biggest frustations in life.
Dizziness & Vertigo
The most common vertigo is the so-called Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo or BPPV. A very common example is that the room will spin when lying on the bed from sitting. There is a maneuver that some physiotherapists and ENT doctors perform that usually solves it in a single session. It is focused on repositioning some crystals of the inner ear with some specific head movements.
In case of dizziness there is more variety. Dizziness caused by head movements tend to have a vestibular origin, so the inner ear. In this case, apart from solving the cause, vestibular rehabilitation is necessary, for which I will teach you specific exercises to do at home.
Another common type of dizziness is the one related to the cervical spine. This usually causes a more general dizziness, not related to the movement, that patients usually describe as a “drunk” feeling or not being able to focus well. This is, of course, in generalising and we would have to study each case individually as often headaches, neck pain, vertigo and dizziness are interrelated. Do not hesitate to consult me if you are not sure if physiotherapy can help.
